Aftercare Information
Lash Lift & Tint Aftercare
First 24-48 Hours:
-
Keep Lashes Dry: Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours to ensure the lift and tint are properly set. This includes washing your face, showering, or sweating during workouts.
-
Avoid Makeup & Eye Products: Refrain from applying any eye makeup, including mascara or eyeliner, and avoid oil-based eye products for at least 48 hours as these can weaken the lift and cause the tint to fade.
-
Don’t Rub or Touch Your Lashes: Be gentle with your lashes and avoid rubbing your eyes, which can affect the curl or cause lash shedding.
Long-Term Care (Ongoing):
-
Use Oil-Free Products: Only use oil-free cleansers and makeup removers around your eye area, as oil-based products can weaken the lash lift and tint over time.
-
Brush Your Lashes: To maintain the lifted shape, gently brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie or mascara wand to keep them looking neat and separated.
-
Avoid Mascara & Extensions: Mascara isn’t necessary after a lash lift, but if you want to use it, wait at least 48 hours and choose a water-based mascara. Waterproof mascara can be too harsh and may weaken the lift.
-
Be Gentle When Cleansing: Avoid vigorous rubbing or scrubbing of your eye area. When removing makeup or cleansing your face, be gentle to protect the longevity of your lash lift and tint.
-
Sun & Heat Protection: Excessive heat, such as hot showers, saunas, or direct sunlight, can weaken the lift and cause premature fading of the tint. Avoid these for the first few days and be mindful thereafter.
-
Moisturising: Apply a lash serum or oil-free lash conditioner to nourish and maintain lash health. This can help with lash growth and overall strength, keeping them looking full and healthy.
Brow Tinting & Brow Lamination Aftercare
First 24-48 Hours:
-
No Water or Steam: Keep your brows dry for 24-48 hours after tinting or lamination to allow the product to set properly. This includes avoiding washing your face directly over the brows, and avoiding swimming pools, hot showers, or steam rooms.
-
Avoid Makeup or Skincare Products: Refrain from applying makeup or skincare products to the brow area, including creams, serums, or foundations, as they may interfere with the tint or lamination results.
-
No Excessive Touching or Rubbing: Avoid rubbing or touching the brows to keep the hairs and tint in place. You should avoid sleeping on your face to prevent disturbing the brow shape, especially with lamination.
Long-Term Care (Ongoing):
-
Daily Brushing: Use a clean spoolie brush daily to gently brush your brows into place. This is particularly important after brow lamination to maintain the smooth, lifted effect.
-
Moisturising: After the first 48 hours, start applying a hydrating brow serum to keep the brow hairs soft and moisturised. Lamination can sometimes make the brows feel dry, so hydration is key.
-
Avoid Sun Exposure: Direct sun exposure or tanning beds can cause the tint to fade prematurely, so it’s best to avoid these for the first few days after your treatment.
-
Be Gentle: Avoid harsh exfoliation around your brows. Gentle skincare is recommended to preserve both the tint and the laminated look.
Facials Aftercare
First 24-48 Hours:
-
Avoid Makeup: Allow your skin to breathe by skipping heavy foundations, powders, and blushes. Let your pores remain unclogged to avoid breakouts.
-
No Exfoliation or Retinoids: Avoid exfoliating your skin or using any active ingredients (like retinoids, acids, or harsh serums) that can cause irritation, especially after a deep cleansing or peeling facial.
-
No Heat Exposure: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, or hot showers for 24-48 hours, as they can dilate the pores, causing irritation and redness.
Hydration:
-
Drink Plenty of Water: Facials can enhance your skin’s moisture levels, but staying hydrated will boost your skin’s recovery and overall glow.
-
Use Gentle Moisturisers: Apply a soothing, hydrating moisturiser regularly to keep the skin nourished.
Sun Protection:
-
Sunscreen is Essential: Freshly treated skin can be more sensitive to UV rays, so apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30. Avoid direct sunlight, and wear a hat if you're going to be outside.
-
Avoid Tanning: Sunbeds or prolonged exposure to the sun can increase the risk of hyperpigmentation, especially if your facial included exfoliation or peels.
Post-Facial Routine:
-
Avoid Touching Your Face: Touching your face can transfer bacteria and oil, which may lead to breakouts or irritation, especially when your skin is sensitive post-treatment.
Exercising:
-
Avoid heavy sweating and exercise for at least 24 hours post-facial to prevent sweat from clogging your pores, which may lead to breakouts.
Waxing Aftercare
Immediate Aftercare (First 24-48 Hours)
-
Avoid Heat & Sweating: Stay away from hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for at least 24 hours, as heat can irritate freshly waxed skin and open pores. Avoid vigorous exercise and activities that cause excessive sweating, as this can lead to irritation or infection of the hair follicles.
-
Keep Skin Clean & Dry: Gently clean the waxed area with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating the area immediately after waxing. Avoid applying heavy lotions, perfumes, deodorants, or scented products to the waxed area for 24 hours to prevent irritation.
-
No Sun Exposure or Tanning: Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, or sunbathing for at least 48 hours. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and prone to burning and hyperpigmentation.
-
Avoid Tight Clothing: Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing to reduce friction on the freshly waxed area, which can lead to irritation or ingrown hairs.
-
No Touching or Picking: Avoid touching, scratching, or picking at the waxed area. Doing so can introduce bacteria, increasing the risk of infection or breakouts.
After 48 Hours
-
Exfoliate Gently: After 48 hours, start gently exfoliating the waxed area 2-3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub or a soft brush to remove dead skin cells.
-
Moisturise Daily: Keep the skin hydrated by applying a non-comedogenic, fragrance-free moisturiser or soothing aloe vera gel. This helps prevent dryness and keeps the skin soft.
-
Avoid Heavy Exfoliation: Avoid using harsh scrubs, retinoids, or chemical exfoliants on the waxed area for at least a week to prevent irritation or sensitivity.
-
Soothe the Skin: If the skin feels sensitive or red, apply a cooling, soothing product such as aloe vera gel, witch hazel, or a post-wax lotion to calm the skin.
